  • Burgmaster Turret Drill, Yahoo Group Formed

I formed this group because there is very little information on the web for Burgmaster turret drills.

Here you will be able to discus .

    Rebuilding .
    Repair
    Improvements
    Servicing
    Faults
    Spares
    or
    sell spares or complete machines.

So this group is here to help people ....including myself ..I know a little ..but not enough ...but hopefully the people who join here will know a lot more .

So that's how it works ..

    Welcome everyone .

Good job on starting the group. It looks like an interesting machine.

I noticed that I can't access the group right now - but if it is just a case of Yahoo Groups being down, I guess that I will have to be patient and wait until it's back up...

A Good Bit of Burgmaster History

There was a book about the rise and fall of Burgmaster:

It's a good read for anyone interested in machine tools and de-industrialization.

          http://www.amazon.com/When-Machine-S.../dp/0875842089

I wouldn't bite on the new book at $200 but the used one for $0.19 would be good.

I've had my copy for almost 20 years.

Yup read a good part of it on-line

seems, they gave away blue prints to the jJapanese of machines, they were about to build ..and the Japanese..had the machines built before them.

Same old story from Japan .First copy, then sell ,before the original designer does. And China blatantly copies everything from a needle to an anchor. Have fun Mark with your new toy. Alistair

its a bit amateurist ...but i think pretty good for half an hours work .. and the first time using windows movie maker.

could do with some music, and the pictures all being the same size.....and maybe some screen shots of the group.

when more join will create an album ...so i can use members machines in the movie.

or will make a proper movie with moving shots

anyway ..i think its a good method of promotion.....google seems to pick up youtube videos before other results ..so will get the video high in the rankings...which will bring in people to join ............hope to do it with the other 3 active groups i run.

                what do you think .

second attemt ..i think the music goes well wiith it

Does anyone know what happened to this Yahoo group.
I did join but could not make much sense of Yahoo groups generally.
I did get some notice about the content being moved somewhere but have lost contact.
Any info would be appreciated .

My main reason for asking is that I want to draw attention to a Model OB I am selling.

Yahoo groups are dying off due to lack of support. the larger ones are still fairly active, but many smaller ones have moved over to groups.io or elsewhere: better support.
