  • powder coat painting attempt

now that i am finished welding and maching my weedwhip thing (except for the electric hookup) i tried my horror freight powder coat paint system. very interesting.

like all other paints, it hides NOTHING. prep seems to be the normal.

it appears to require quite a bit of dust (powder) to get it to gloss-out after cooking it. the only color i had was purple and that does not match john deere green at all so, spend more $$$$ for a can of green.

while im waiting im going to experment with some other crap i have laying around.
my home-made/resurrected kitchen oven worked flawlessly.

    pictures to follow.

On regular paint you sand with 800 or 1000 or higher grit to make paint shine like a brand new car. But i dunno if this is the same for powder coat, but i assume it is once cooled and "dry".
