  • Hey Forrest!

Nice article in the new HSM. Also a great idea for a series. I have to wonder though, being a lefty, where do I keep my 6" scale?

A self portrait I presume as well?
Handsome fella, and industrious appearing too.

Thanks. I haven't seen it in print yet but I'm happy to have a couple of good reviews.

No portrait needed. I look like Dan Haggarty of "Grizzly Adams" except I'm prettier than the bear.

Based on the first installment, I anticipate a great series, Forrest. It may be written for newbies, but I bet even some of us not-so-newbies will learn a thing or two.

The Pony Express would be more reliable and faster. Still haven't got my Feb. MW.

Looking forward to your artical Forrest.

That was the plan, SGW. I was asked to address basic machine skills and the most suggested topic a HSM was the wiggler. It's real basic, I know.

Guys further along in machinist's skills development shouldn't feel insulted. "...for the New Hand" column wasn't intended for them. It's for the guy with a new mill-drill who's fighting off buyer's remorse but still asking himself "What does this thing do that a drill press doesn't"?

Well, I never knew what that offset shank was supposed to be used for, so I learned something from the first article, too.
