materials question

bought the wife a crapsman nextec 12 volt flail trimmer and she likes it. now the problem is they quit making the flails. what material would you recomend to make them? the flails i still have are flexible but i can tell what they are. tom

Seems others have the same problem. Scroll down on this thread: http://community.craftsman.com/Lawn-...-rip-off/posts - someone has managed to modify Bosch flails to suit.

If the entire flail head is removable, could you fit a different one? Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pivo-Trim-tr...04%26rk%3D1%26

If you have a lathe, find some commonly available flails, and machine up a head to suit.
