  • OT-Cut My Pumpkin with a Jigsaw

I was cutting a pumpkin for Halloween and the job became tedious. Then I decided to try my jigsaw and it worked great. I sketched out the face with some blackboard chalk and went to town. Who would have thunk.

      Course or fine toothed blade?

You mean your "saber toothed" cannibal pumpkin,
Don't think it goes unnoticed that your saber teeth are still connecting the lower jaw, you actually increased the scare factor whilst adding to the structural integrity, that's an A++ in my book

until someone comes along and carves one out with a laser wand of course...

          Thanks Boomer, and BigMike,
Brown9d2, it was a thin, medium tooth for scroll work.
No pre-drilling, just shove the blade through the pumpkin and start cutting.

Reminds me of the old RCM newsgroup days. One of the posters was using a forestner bit in his drill press to core apples. I don't think his wife ever figured out how he was getting it done so fast

A plaster (aka "dry-wall") "jag" saw will do it easily.

Awesome job on the pumpkin, Ron. Great design.
