  • Dividing using a Rotab & PC?

I already have a dividing head but I would also like to use my 8" Vertex Rotab for division, I was going to buy a set of plates for it but then started looking at the "Divsionmaster" and it's clones but this seems time consuming as it requires making PCB's and equipment cases etc.

I thought a faster construction project might be to use an old Laptop (with a parallel port) a driver board and then finally a stepper on the rotab, has anyone done this? if you have what are the pros & cons? some worked examples would be very nice if any of you have done this.

    Any help much appreciated

Thanks John great link, looks like I have some reading to do
A question if I may though the Stepperbee motors all seem to be 12v would these boards work with the better holding torque but lesser voltage motors available from Arceurotrade?
