  • OT: Keeping SWMBO happy

I have my computer work station directly beside the recliner in which I spend the greatest part of my life these days. It's the only way to keep my blood pressure and heart rate normal. It was admittedly a bit of a messy looking setup. My wife sits across the room at her work station in the evening and this is what she saw. This is actually after considerable tidying!

I have a lot of acrylic material that I gained from a sign shop that closed a couple of years ago. So, I spent my small personal energy budget for a couple of days and improved the appearance by hanging some black panels and placing some smoke gray panels on top of the shelf units with a decorative placement of some magazines. I have promised myself that the relatively large area of open horizontal free space on top will stay that way and the magazines help to hide the dust that will accumulate.

She Who Must Be Obeyed is much happier and consequently, so am I.

Thanks George. The panels are hung on black tie-wraps so they can be lifted for easy access to the shelving. Quick and easy.

Here is a closer look at the "dust covers" for those not familiar with the mastheads.

slick! hard to tell its the same desk.

that monitor support looks a little on the flimsy side, though.. maybe add a couple of gussets.

Hate to be stupid, but what does SWMBO stand for?

                Nice work Evan.

From an excellent British TV series, Rumpole of the Bailey starring Leo McKern, always referred to his other half as She Who Must Be Obeyed!.
Played a Barrister at the Old Bailey in London.

                      Evan,
That look really nice. It does not look like the same command post that I remember.

Actually, Barrister Rumpole stole it from the book "She" by H. Rider Haggard. "She" is the white queen of a tribe of African natives, and "She Who Must Be Obeyed" was their term for her.

If my "She" looked like Ursula Andress did in the movie adaptation, I would be much more inclined to obey...
