If it looks nice and you need a 4 jaw, that would be a pretty good deal.

Considering that a Chinese clone 4-jaw chuck sells for $145.

      Haven't you bought it already?

I only use a 4 jaw chuck or a collet chuck...

Real Emco 4 jaw chucks were mostly made by Rohm (rebadged to EMCO) and had a clamp arrangment as part of the back plate to lock onto an extended shoulder on the spindle. The clamp needs to be tightened and if this clamp is exterted on the threads of the Atlas, it might not be the best idea.

6" chuck for $94 at CDCO, $91 at Grizzly, $105 from Shars.

              Don't forget the backplate.

You can buy another backplate for 1.5x 8tpi and machine to suit the chuck.

The chuck would be fine if it hasn't been crashed or otherwise damaged. A small chuck is easily damaged. I had a nice looking 8" Rohm chuck years ago that I took back. It was not accurate, though it did not appear damaged. The scroll must have been hurt when the stock being held twisted,etc.. Be careful of used chucks.

I've got a EMCO 6" four jaw with D1-4 backplate and it is a very nice piece of iron. Take it over my Bison any day. Think I have an extra EMCO three jaw down there somewhere too. This is starting to get out of control.....
