  • OT- looking for cool machine shop poster 24x36 portrait

I want to find a cool poster of vintage industrial scene. Ideal subject would be machine shop of course but would consider vintage transportation, railroad, automotive, exploded view engine, etc. I have searched online but have not come up with anything really perfect. Any tips/links please? Thanks.

Not an actual pre-made poster, but you could "borrow" whatever floats your boat off the Scorpy site and then have it printed in the size you want? The tough part would be just chosing a single picture though.

I can't remember his name right now but Kearney and Trecker commissioned an artist to do machine shop paintings at one time. I have a deck of Kearney and Trecker playing cards with his painting "Milling Chips" on the back. He did a lot of railroad and other industrial paintings that are very cool.

Edit: His name was Edmund Lewandowski and he was one of the artists whose work is called 'Precisionism'. Here is a link to a deck of cards like I have and you can see the painting if you zoom into the image. A google search will find more of his work.

The only posters I have ever seen in a machine shop were from the tool manufacturers and they have half naked women for every month. I liked them alot.

Personally, I like naked female posters but this is going up in my house and others may not feel the same so I had to keep it clean.

What is cleaner than a naked body! Don't let anyone in the house that doesn't like your poster. Simple. If it is your wife that doesn't like the poster then tell her to join a fitness studio!!!!!

BF keep in mind most of the posters are living in the land of the Puritans. When I visited Italy I saw lots of full frontal beefcake & cheese cake in all the factories.

My favorite (up until this year anyways) are the Pirelli calendars, but the vintage Snap On, Mac, Proto, etc calendars are also works of art. Too bad the PC police eliminated them.

Years ago, I had a Playboy calendar in my shop, and the feature that month was Cynthia Myers, from Toledo, OH. She had large bazongas, to say the least.

My wife was into horses at the time, and one of her friends was in the shop, along with her 11-year-old daughter. The daughter looked at the calendar and said, "Look Mom, it's Cindy!". Apparently, Cynthia rode horses at a local stable, just a couple of miles from the OH/MI line, and Darcy (the daughter) had seen her there.

This is the sort of thing you'll miss out on if you hide the calendar.

Good choice, not 100 percent positive, but that lathe looks an awful lot like my old Porter Cable tool room lathe.
