    how is this for a vise, 9" wide jaws, 400 lbs.

    I'd like to have that one. Restore it and put it in the living room for a coffee table.

    I don't think it's technically a machinist vise if it has a swivel base.

        Yes, it can be used to clamp a bench, so it is a bench vise
        Amount of experience is in direct proportion to the value of broken equipment.

            That would be a great vise to hold the vise your working on! There are times I would love to have a vise like that.
