  • Almost free 5c collets

I just saved 139 collets from the scrapper.
    They are 5c oversize,machinable collets.
I paid a hundred dollar bill for the bunch and all I want is my money back.
You can have them for a buck a piece and postage. When I get the hundred back the extras will be free plus shipping.

    What I got;
    34 @ 3" dia.
    [email protected] 2 1/4 dia.
    [email protected] 2 1/8
    [email protected] 1 7/8
    [email protected] 1 5/8
They all have 7/8 (.870) by 20 tpi. female threads in the back.

You will need a male/female adapter sold by various vendors.( see my other 5c collet thread) I am not endorsing any particular vendor.

One condition. I am looking to spread the wealth not concentrate it.
If some one wants to buy the lot they go to the bottom of the list and get the left overs.

    p.m. me.

    I forgot....They are aluminum collets

thats good of you. Given they need an adapter, are they then shorter that a regular 5C - i.e. by the time the length of adapter is there are they still the right length for a 5c chuck?

Good question. There was one adapter that I could find.
I will put one together and give you that measurement.

thinking about it, they'd almost have to be...else whats the point. I found this image - it looks like the AL collet part is shortened

If they're right size for a 5c collet, I'd love to have two or three of each size.

I'll go for 5 of each or whatever works out to best share the wealth......if you're over subscribed I'm happy with 2 or 3 of each....or 1

Send addresses in the p.m. Saves me typing the same question over and over.
I will bundle three of each, take them to the post office and get a price on that size package and post it here.

You guys jumped right on this! 16 3" and 44 1 7/8" are left

A 12.85 flat rate box will fit fifteen to twenty quite well.

I emptied my p.m. box, didn't think it would fill up that fast!
These things may be gone by the end of the day. I am surprised.

Hopefully I am just bending the rule. There is no profit for me. I am just spreading a bargain amongst friends.
I won't be making a habit of this.
