The good is the beautiful Leitz tool makers microscope. Came with the stage shown to the right. It has a neat Nikon base that is very low profile and lets you move x/y via levers. 125x magnification. The eyepiece has cross hairs and the dial at the back is so you can use them to measure by moving the head left or right - graduated in tenths. Neat seeing what is going on. I'd like to get the camera hooked up to it. I've picked up some german and swiss tools recently, they are really well made. Everything moves so smoothly but without any slop.

The bad is the Sunnen oil reservoir for the following and sludge I have to clean out of it.....and the ugly is the Sunnen LB itself. The plan is a rebuild for this, really just a clean up and paint, everything seems to work well. I just have too much apart right now so it sits and waits its turn. Got it to try on the maximat tailstock

Awesome! That's my sort of stuff right there and you're right that Swiss stuff is just dynamite. They don't mess around when it comes to precision tools.

Excuse my ignorance, what is that Sunnen thingy?

Jon, the Sunnen Thingy would be a Honing machine.
