  • Unimat tool holder

Anyone have a good plan for a QCTP for a Unimat? I saw one on the bay that looked pretty nice. Bob.

I've seen them clamped to the table of a mill, but never seen one clamped in a toolpost.

(sorry. Won't it use the same QCTP as a 7x10 lathe?)
At the end of the project, there is a profound difference between spare parts and extra parts.

    Location: SF East Bay.

I started to scale my design for the Unimat but never finished the project. The biggest problem was the limited clearance above the cross slide. I also wanted to add a compound slide and that did not help the situation.

As for using one designed for the 7X10, I highly doubt it as the Unimat is about a 3X6 and would require a significantly smaller design.

Here's one from the Files section of the Yahoo group - UNIMAT

        http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/grou...les/SL%20QCTP/

If the link doesn't open, then you go join that group and swipe it.

Ohh, it works brilliantly, I've been using this design for over a decade with no problems.
