  • Noise Coolant Pump

This is on a Nardini Lathe with 3 phase. The coolant pump is loud enough to be annoying. I will try putting the metal sump on a rubber pad to try to reduce this.
Any other thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

    Hi,

Is it a gear pump? Might not be able affect the noise short of replacement.
If you think you understand what is going on, you haven't been paying attention.

If impeller type, make sure that nothing is jammed/stuck to the impeller or a broken blade causing off balance vibration.
      Max.

Add rubber between pump and metal and put some heavy weight on the metal, changes the sound to much more pleasant humming.
Amount of experience is in direct proportion to the value of broken equipment.

Might be bad bearings in the motor if it has them.

            A chip in the pump?
