  • Don't see why not. We use sildenafil in veterinary medicine for right sided heart failure.

I'm thinking more like a microdot than a picture!

Flylo, We dam sure don't want a picture of Evan in his G-suit and a hard on. That could cause severe psychological damage to anyone that looks at it.

In this case Evan we believe you, pictures are not necessary.

        • Viagra has side effects.
I've taken viagra but the tablet got stuck in my throat and I've had a stiff neck ever since.

            • I'm still here. I took 10 mg of the sildenafil and it really worked in reducing my laying down high blood pressure. It dropped it by at least 30 points and held it steady even at different angles of sitting and lying in my recliner. That is amazing and much better than the other uses. I might just make it, again.

When I was a child I read the original story Flowers for Algernon. That has always somehow reminded me of myself and it is now seeming very much the same as me in the last stages of my life. I have never seen the movies of it and don't intend to either. I remember the original story just fine.

I very much appreciate all of your encouragements and sentiments. What happens will happen.

I was also thinking about Algernon while following your posts and was going to post something about it a few days ago. In fact I've been thinking quite a bit about that story lately from the perspective of being a simile for the cycle of life and how it accurately follows my own late stage . Good news on the medication - sometimes contraindications are just what the body needs.

It is useful stuff, it is something I have in my collection of assorted drugs, GTN spray gives you a hangover before drinking! Aka headache of biblical proportion, however Viagra relaxes the arteries without so much pain. It does incur a headache though!,

                    • Well, I suppose that if I was taking viagra, I wouldn't have to keep looking for the triplet of shoes anymore. I imagine I'd have to re-learn how to balance- and wear large broad ties
I seldom do anything within the scope of logical reason and calculated cost/benefit, etc- I'm following my passion-

                      • Okok, More seriously, How does your dose compare to what is intended for 'normal' use evan?

Because I wonder what the long term effects of taking it are. the thing about '4 hours' is because it can actualy cause damage if (not enough?) blood does not flow for long enough.

But then, I would assume it might still have signifigant effect in low doses.

                        • The effect sildenafil has on blood pressure is quite interesting. It levels out blood pressure by lowering high blood pressure and raising it if too low. This is unlike nearly all other chemicals and is what is very much needed for people with combination orthostatic hypotension (low when standing) and supine hypertension (too high when lying down). That is me and quite a few other people, especially those with idiopathic dysautonomia (me). My dysautonomia isn't really idiopathic since the cause is known but it is so rare that it is called idiopathic because it is very similar.

What is very strange about it is the effect kicks in at very low dosage and it make almost no difference as the dosage is increased. At 25 mg the effect is almost the same as at 100mg. It is called a semi-sinusoidal dosage pattern.

Previous drugs will either raise or lower the BP but then the other end is a big problem. This one works correctly at both ends and this is a very big deal. There are several trials underway right now to check out this effect but I didn't have time to wait for that sort of approval. My doctor allows me to try nearly anything I want because he has seen that so far I have always been correct. Fortunately he is very willing to allow me to show what I know and why it is that I know it. He has no personal ego that must always override everything else. He is perfectly willing to admit he doesn't know the answer to something and listens to what I have found out for him. He absolutely does not dispute me when I drag in new studies that explain my medical circumstances. He does question me thoroughly until he understands the reasons/logic behind the information.

Without him helping me I would likely be dead.

                            • Thanks. Looks like I may just make it, again. The sildenafil is really working at keeping my blood pressure down when lying reclined. I am really surprised that this drug has been around for so long and this application hasn't been noticed until now. It has the potential to save a lot of lives.

I think the problem is that doctors are so overwhelmed with information that it might be very difficult to keep up with it all.

Good to hear your feeling better.
