Yup, i think it is a gunsmiths vise as posted for working stocks.

I have seen them called "Stockmakers" vises, maybe Brownells sells them?

I picked up this vise as part of a batch of tools. It is a pretty cool vise, but there is no trademark or manufacturer's name. Does anyone know anything about it?
