  • Free Rivett Mill, Needs Assembly, too good to scrap. It needs a good home.

The ways are in GC, please come and get it before it deteriorates and becomes rusty.
It is oiled and greased up and sitting outside.
I have no room and too many other projects.
It is a horizontal mill, spindle is on a mounted round vertical column.
It looks like it was part of a combination machine.
It was used as a horizontal slitting mill, lever feed to the table.
I don't want to scrap it.
If interested please go to my FLICKR "Free Mill" Set. Please check my entire "Flickr" Set if you are interested.

Mail me so you may arrange pick it up.

I can't tell what the base was from, but the column/spindle section sure looks like it's from a Rockwell/Delta Toolmaker grinder.

      Thank You Scott.
Now that you have mentioned it, the column does resemble one.

I Know nothing about this machine. I kind of fell heir to it.
It is no longer available, someone is interested in it.
If they end up not being able to take it, I will re-post this message.
          Thanks
          Ken

As it turns out, it's actually parts from TWO grinders! The top looks to be a Rockwell/Delta as noted above, and the bottom is from a Rivett No. 103 internal grinding machine meant for grinding cam rollers. Ok, by me as I'd like a cutter/grinder, and for the price, this should fit the bill.

            http://books.google.com/books?id=2Ih...no.103&f=false

The Rivett half is really interesting. It's going to take a lot of work to get everything cleaned up and working. If anyone is interested, I'll try and take pics of the process.

              Hi Mike
You have had more success in finding out about this machine than I did. Congratulations.
Yes, please keep us posted. Best of luck and wishes, Ken
