  • __ Boy, being off by 10 deg can sure look silly ! (pic inside)

Made this "speed handle" alittle while back and just stombled across acouple pics of it.

Was using a "spindexer" to index the slug in order to mill the flats and drill & tap for the handles to screw into it. Missed a hole in the indexers aliment plate so one of the "sides" are off 10 degrees.

If i didnt already have the socket welded into the center of the slug, i would have remade it, but now its a reminder to pay closer attention

Well -- other than that its a nice handle ...
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something........

Should'a drilled the others "off by 10 degrees" too, then all would be right.

Looks like some of that industrial art that goes for big bucks.

You needed a spindexer for that? What did you do? Convince the wife you needed one to make a $3 part?

Not bad but you suck! At indexing that is.

Nothing wrong there that a 10° bend in either one or 3 arms couldn't fix.
No sense worrying about it too much, heck my whole life is a reminder that I could have done better.

Next time, just make it 1 or 2 degrees off. Just enough so when people look at it, they know something is wrong, but just can't figure out what it is.

It just hurts me to look at it, but it keeps drawing me back like picking at a scab.

(I would have been inclined to have embedded it in a wall after all that work. )

Pay no attention to the naysayers! In a couple years you can sue for infringement when the fad catch's on.
Of course, china will be the largest offender after they see your work.
