Anyone using ballistol mixed 20:1 with distilled water in their coolant system? It has so many uses and says about machining applications i was thinking about trying it.

No but I get mine at Amazon for $9/shipped which is the cheapest I've found. If anyone has a better price let me know, Thanks!

I've seen people using it to clean rifle barrels. It must be another WD40, we've all seen the hundreds of applications for that!

        Hi,

Ballistol has been around for a bit over 100 years. Originally developed for the German Army at the turn of the last century, it was meant to be the answer to a general purpose cleaner, lubricant for fireams, and even topical antibacterial for minor wounds.

I've not used it as a cutting fluid, but I might be reluctant to cut it with more water, as it is mostly water already. It should provide cooling and at least some lubrication during machining. It would be worth a try in a pinch at least. I would think it's a bit expensive to use though.
