+2 for a Geometric die head. I laso like Acorn dies for this if your lathe has instant reverse.

Go for a Geometric Chuck. The versatility is outstanding and the range of dies is awesome.
You need to look at size. I have a 9/16 DSA Geometric. The DSA has all the automatic triggers (Push/pull)
Size matters. What your largest thread size is determines the Geo size you want, and the size of your lathe.
I just made 14 304 SS bolts last week with a 3/8-16 thread on a 10 inch lathe. Piece of cake !
Doing a 9/16 thread on SS would really push that limit however, due to the load you put on the tailstock.
You mention a 3 MT , so there is no problem there...but a #2 MT may approach limit for torque.
You may be better off with a 3/4 " Geometric ?
