    Hi Guy's I see from time to time there are various posts related to Telescopes & Associated items,on this site.

      His site is where I found the idea for the spider on my telescope that I completed last year. It is as solid as if the secondary were mounted on a metal plate yet obscures almost no aperture. I calculate it at around .4% for the spider vanes. They are under high tension and are made from hardened steel shim stock .012 thick, then sandblasted and phosphated black. They produce only the faintest of diffraction spikes.

      These pics are before the telescope was anodised flat black.
