  • Bridgeport Mill dial division increments

I should know this but I don't. <red-faced> If I had to move my Bridgeport Series 1 mills table in the X direction 100 microns how many clicks would that be on the dial, approximately 3?

    Regards,

I had to look it up to be sure, but a micron is about 39.3 micro-inches, so 100 microns is about 4 mils, which should be four divisions on a Bridgeport and most other non-metric machines.

0.000246 Biblical cubits. Pharonic slightly less, Assyrian slightly mere but NIST standards are sadly lacking when it comes to ancient measures. Depends on how old your Bridgeport is.

25.4 microns = 0.001 inch. Four marks on the Bridgeport will be a tiny bit over 100 microns. I used to have to think in microns in relating to hole sizes in cellulose acetate spinnerets.
