Bells Oberon is a great beer. Brewed as a summer brew in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Today is the first day of Oberon season and I plan to sample this years batch.

Has there been a rebirth of real ales in the USA in recent years? When I last was there in 86, there was only crap like Coors, Budweiser and other lager types, all lacking any character.

When I lived in England for a while, I was introduced to .. bitter shandies.

Kind of like lager and 7Up. I'm not a real beer drinker and the 7Up nicely takes away the bite of the beer.

There are literally HUNDREDS of good beers to choose from. Just too many micro-brewers out there.
My wife got me the "Beer of the month club", and I tried many, many different beers. ALL GOOD.
However, I have a taste for wheat beer.
My favorite "Mass produced" beer is FRANZISKANER.

I can't say I like wheatbeer, it is popular on the continent, the one I tried comes from Belgium an acquired taste if ever there was one.

Anymore there are so many good ones from which to choose. I frequently order an IPA, stout, or imperial stout, but I like it all. And a shout-out to Dogfish Head brewery for their 90 minute IPA.
