  • ENCO Letter

I just got this & am sure most of you did too but in case someone didn't.

    Hi %%FIRSTNAME%%,

As you’ve probably heard by now, Enco will be joining our parent company, MSC. While we’re sorry to see Enco go, our team is very excited about the benefits this brings to you, our loyal customers. Since you probably have questions – we did – here are some answers to what may be on your mind.

Will I continue to get the pricing I received from Enco?
Yes. We’ve worked with MSC to provide our customers with everyday discounts to bring you the prices you’ve come to expect from Enco. Just log in to mscdirect.com with the username you were sent and your price will be shown. Remember, you have to log in to see your discount.

    What about the additional deals?
You’ll continue to see special promotions, along with free shipping offers, and you’ll always get the best price – your everyday discount or the special promotional price.

What happens a year from now, will the discounts go away?
No. We worked with MSC to create a program that will bring value to our Enco customers well into the future. Rest assured, we value your business and intend to do so for years to come.

How about the Enco people I love speaking to?
We’re not going anywhere! We’re joining the MSC team and will still be here for you.

Will MSC be keeping the Enco machinery line?
Yes. Enco machines, parts, and manuals are available through MSC, along with another million products that we’re thrilled to have available for you.

Our team is excited because we know that this change allows us to serve our
customers better than ever before. We understand that this change, like any
change, will lead to other questions we’ve not addressed in this note. We’re here
at 1-800-USE-ENCO to answer any of the questions you may have. Please don't
hesitate to reach out. We value your business and look forward to making this
transition beneficial to all of our loyal Enco customers.

So what changes? The address, name, phone # and the way they display prices?

Anyway, thank you for the good news, Flylo. I am sure it will give a relief to many who were upset by this change.

I had a guy from MSC call me an talk to me about the Enco-MSC merger and he was telling me that the special pricing was only going to last a year after the merger... so I wonder which one is really correct?

Special pricing? Looking up prices for a Mitutoyo Micrometer, Enco was the cheapest between MSC and Grainger, but Amazon Prime was 30$ cheaper than Enco.

Yes it has, I posted it & they called me several times & claim the prices will be the same but after giving them Enco item numbers they came back with MSC sale prices with 35% off that were more than ENCOs list price. I wasn't sure everyone got this e-mail, sorry you got a underware twist over it.

Thanks for posting, I purchase so little anymore from ENCO I don't even get the emails. I have found that Amazon seems to have the lowest prices for the exact same item. Prime has paid for its self over and over.

I was looking for an expanding mandrel set. The 8pc 1/2-2" set.
It is more expensive at MSC than at Enco even with 35% discount at MSC.
I will look elsewhere when they merge.

I'm with you on this, Sim. I've unsubscribed from their emailed sales notifications.

I figure I might as well just accept it and move on. Next time I need something I'll compare the Enco prices to those of MSC, as well as McMaster, eBay, Banggood, and Little Machine Shop. I think it is most worthwhile to support LMS because they seem to have a good selection of parts and tooling for smaller machines, and they are good folk who will have a booth at Cabin Fever and elsewhere. Maybe they will take over somewhat where ENCO left off and add some items to their line. I'm pretty much a bottom line bargain hunter, and I will also check out Craigs List and vendor tables at shows I might attend.
