    JME but the problem I see most often with bench grinders is that folks buy a lightweight cheapie. Many folks run the grinder without the wheels, see it run smooth, and assume the problem must be the wheels so they dink around trying to balance good wheels. In reality the problem is the grinder itself, the effect is simply magnified by the added mass of the wheels. I usually suggest folks either build a solid base to add damping or spend $10 on a vintage grinder as theyre quite a bit heavier, much better solutions IMHO.
