      metal mite has the best idea yet, I think. Dunno why I didn't think of it -- I've done exactly that for end mills when I needed more "reach" to get into a tight place. Works fine. Only thing to watch out for is to get the hole for the end mill as concentric to the o.d. as you can, and as good a fit as you can.

        Turn and bore (don't drill) it in one setup. Part off and then pretty it up. This will ensure concentricity.

          We ALL do that....like when we get a boring bar with a smaller shank than 1/2" and want to put it in a Criterion boring head.....

            Brian, A allen wrench can make a boring bar. Cut short end way back and sharpen it. That gives you as small as 1/16 inch. Never used one that small but have used probably 1/8 inch
