    Hi,

Like it or not, if you turn something loose on the internet without specific sanctions, you should not be surprised to see it show up else where. If you don't want that, keep it off the web.

So I have a project on there too, and 16 people want plans for it. If I upload plans, does the site sell them? Do I get a profit? I am going to contact the site owner.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it seems to me there is an issue here with intellectual property. I may be wrong but the material created is the property of the creator under various copyright laws, etc...

Well, that is interesting. I see several things on there with my screen name on them and I was never contacted either.

And, for curiosity, there's a place on the page where you can express an interest in plans. Five people have requested plans for one of my designs. This is something I designed, I've never posted plans, but the site does sell plans. So it's a commercial site, income from sales as well as advertising and it's using photos I've posted elsewhere without my permission or knowledge.

Just seems a little screwy to me.

Any of you guys know whats going on with that site - they just go around stealing content? I don't want to petty but it feels wrong when some rips off you stuff for content and sells advertising. The do link back here so maybe its not totally a rip....but still, no one asked
Home made tools the owner's name is Jon. I am not 100% positive but i think he is also the owner of the Atlas/Craftsman Yahoo forum. I can find out more info if you like.

I e-mailed the guy who runs it after I noticed my stuff going up there. He said they have an automated script or program that pulls stuff from various places and he seemed a very agreeable fellow. He offered to take down my stuff, but my only problem was that the photos were lacking descriptions of any kind. There was one set of photos I didn't want up there, only because it was an in-progress project I didn't want to let out of the bag yet. He took those photos down, I created a login to the site, and he transferred all my project photos to my account, and we updated all the descriptions. I personally don't have a problem with it but I completely understand those who do.
