On the same vein: My brother in law was working on his car. He told me he was taking the "firing order" off to check for a water leak. My thought, and I don't speak like they do in the deep south, was it was the distributor. I was having trouble with "water leak and the distributor, so some questions. He remarked that the "Firing Order" even had a part number cast in it. Guess what, the first number was 1 followed by 2 through 8 in a random order. Need I say more?

Intake manifold. They used to put the firing order on them, now with all the new stuff its hard to find the firing order in the repair manuals. With plug and play electronic ignition systems no one needs the firing order any more, I haven't used my timing light in years.

Wes, I have some too. Always wondered about the name....

My favorite name for tools has always been Barcalo Buffalo. I've had a couple wrenches of that name for years. Not the prettiest, but durable.
I cut it off twice; it's still too short

And the Buffalo drill press, I got about 4 on the machine buy last fall & while now Buffalo tools are a joke these seem well made.

Depends on which "Buffalo"...... one old and very nice, one new (since 1975 or so) and utter trash.

Knob lathes and Prick punches, no idea at all why the names amuse me.

Thanks all! This just gave me a good laugh as I recalled a story I once heard about this kid who, until he was 6 or 7, thought his name was Damnit.
That's all his father called him... "Damnit, eat your food!" "Damnit, leave your sister alone!" "Damnit, put that down!"
