Yes 17mm, I just cut slugs off a bar of 17mm silver steel or what you know as drill rod and just harden these out, no tempering.
You always need specials, often where the underside of the pilot needs a flat milling or grinding on right up to the hole to allow a cross hole to be drilled up to a shoulder.
