  • Jacobs Taper Chart & Question

I was wondering what the deal is with the 33 JT. Is it an older taper size or some special purpose taper???

Here is the chart..........large end and small end.

    2 short .549 .488 .750

Dunno, butyou find it on every other medium size chuck you look at. Pretty darn popular.

Something that got "standardized by accident", perhaps.

Don't know how they came up with calling it #33 either.
It should have been between the 2 and the 6. Don't understand that either.

In modern terminology it is really V3.3. It took three tries to get it right.

          Make it fit.
You can't win and there is a penalty for trying!
