Thanks Bob, just ordered one to try £3.83 UKP, as it's Hall effect it wonder if it would work in place of the "standard" magnet and pickup layout of the far eastern LED counters?

There is a small magnetic pellet embedded in the case so there is no need for an external magnet. It reacts to gear teeth as long as they are ferro magnetic.
