  • anyone got plans for a drawbar with closer

    Hi anyone got plans for a drawbar for collet closing preferably with lever operated mechanism on it. I would like to see how they work in detail any one point me to anything even on the net regards Alistair
    Please excuse my typing as I have a form of parkinsons disease

          in the above picture, the cone shaped spool is pulled outward by the handle. This lifts the pressure fingers up the ramp and onto the od of the spool. The left end of the pressure fingers act as a cam against the locater ring/rear end spindle adapter. This caused the draw bar to pulled tight until the handle is pushed back toward the lathe, releasing the pressure fingers.

          The locator finger when pressed in against spring pressure allows the draw bar assembly to spin freely for collet change.

          Everything spins with the lathe when the locator finger is engaged except the handle and bearing assembly.
