Got this in a machinists toolbox I picked up, my best guess is a depth mic rod but the Mitutoyo that came with the toolbox has rods that look very different on the end. The big end says "264VT" on it, google didn't give me anything relevant.

    Diameter is .140"/3.5mm.

    Anyone know what its for?

It reminds me of a thermocouple.
At the end of the project, there is a profound difference between spare parts and left over parts.
