AR15 9mm pistol

I purchased an 80% lower receiver paperweight that's designed to use 9mm MP5 magazines. Amongst the things I had to do was make jigs so my machinist vise could hold the receiver. Having a DRO made the drilling and reaming a breeze. The 7/16" 2" length of cut 2 flute endmill was a nightmare. On the other hand, the 1/2" 4 flute corn cob rougher endmill from Amazon was worth its weight in gold!
Was a fun project, screwed up a tiny bit inside the receiver. The sidewalls are .010 to .020 thinner than they should be.
Going to use an 8" barrel. This is going to be my PDW.
Going to save up for a good air compressor and oven. Going to try Cerakoting.

I'd love to have an Ar15 platform with .308 or .30-06. That would be a fun toy at the range.

Building your own Ar seems to cost twice as much as just buying a complete one. The upper is going to cost around 500$. For what this will end up costing me, could of bought a DS Arms FN-Fal... I also love .308.

Well, in MA AR15 in any form is banned unless it's an original and manufactured prior to 1994 and they all set for $2K+ over here which is just stupid. The only AR15 style I own is the new S&W M&P 15-22 which is .22 in an AR15 like platform. Very fun but we're also limited to 10 round mags too so we can't even own a 30rd mag.

Well, in MA AR15 in any form is banned unless it's an original and manufactured prior to 1994 and they all set for $2K+ over here which is just stupid. The only AR15 style I own is the new S&W M&P 15-22 which is .22 in an AR15 like platform. Very fun but we're also limited to 10 round mags too so we can't even own a 30rd mag.

Main reason why I wanted to leave the North East. Too bad, love the fall and fishing up there...

I don't think so. I think anything "modified" or non-original and/or not pre-1994 is illegal in MA. I think the pre-1994 AR15s have to have been owned/registered in MA prior to 1994 as well. It's really bad over here.

PSA just had AR-10s in 308 for $479/shipped * completely done, no building needed. I'm not an AR fan but have a couple 24" target ones in .556 & 6.5 Grendel & a piston carbine. 3 watt Move to America, the real America!

You can get into a pre-ban ar setup for cheaper than that. I regularly see pre-ban lowers for $1100 then just pick the upper of your choice. Still more than what we pay in the free states but better than $2400.
