Saw that a couple days ago.

That outcome was expected. Both machines were very poorly palletized - by so-called "professionals".

Probably, possibly,we don't know how much of the packing is missing.I recieve a fair bit of freight at work and I have seen things come in where the entire pallet, crate and skrink wrap were gone, just the machine laying on it's side.

Mcostello from this forum could give them some schooling in that category. The big 320 lb vise he shipped to me was rock solid, bolted solid to heavy base surrounded by heavy plywood Armour.

our EE was tipped on its front.. The reason why we got it (it was really really cheap)

We fixed it up 'good enough' and been running it ever since. Very very awesome lathe.

If I took a 10EE, and converted it to CNC, and ripped the old drive system out of it, and replaced it with a servo drive, would that count as molesting it? Would I go to hell for that?

There are definitely candidates where that would be appropriate. The manufacturing model, without threading. Turret and tracer options. And there was the 10 EC.

That kind of abuse deserves the death penalty.
The shortest distance between two points is a circle of infinite diameter.

I ordered a brand new 10x18" Grizzly bandsaw back in 2005 and I went down to the shipping hub to pick it up with my truck. A guy brought out the saw in a crate with his forklift and proceeded to drive down a ramp and it tipped over and crash landed. I refused it, called up Grizzly and told them what happened and they shipped out another one. Same thing almost happened with my large 80gal 7.5hp compressor except as it was about to fall over the forklift operator counter steered and saved it.

EDIT: I found the post on here about it when it happened.
