  • Large end mills free to a good home

I came across some 1.5” end mills with 1” shanks. One is two flutes the other is six. It’s likely these are resharpened ones and I’ve not verified size.

I could grind the shanks down to 3/4” a
So they fit my largest collet but really can’t be bothered.

If someone cares to pay shipping (will fit in a small flat rate usps box) you are welcome to them.

You sure you want to part with that top one? I bet there's a museum that would just love to have it, or someone into archeology or something... thanks though...

I guessing the bottom one looks substantially better. Good on ya.

Under that layer of patina is a bicycle crank waiting to be revealed. For a mere $7.50 USPS flat rate, they can be yours.

Looks like a wax coating to me. JR

Whoa! Double take on the photo. Until the split second you realize that they're on the surface plate and the shoes are on the floor and not at the same level, you might think that scale is indicating feet, not inches...

                  Ye of little faith...

                  Uma, Sold!

PM me an address and we can sort out the details.

That one on the top has a bit of rust on the shank but nothing that won't come off with anything more than a scotchbrite pad or wire wheel. The cutting edges are still in the plastic tool dip. Not nearly as scary as it looks in the picture. So it will, in fact, buff right out.

These were in with boxes of resharpened mills, so I expect that they may not be on size, but are plenty sharp.

Obvious from the first pic it was in wax... maybe some eye exams are in order.

Hey yes very obvious - also whats obvious is that the wax is chipped off on much of the cutting surfaces and that rust is glaring through along with that fact that even if I had a collet big enough I sure the hell would not introduce it to that shank lol

see post #3 yeah that will buff right out

Not really worried about the rust can fix that in a couple seconds or a lil soak and I have plenty of regrinds that work great. I just want some larger endmills to play around with to see how my mill handles it vs the biggest I have now at 3/4 I'm not programming or doing things that size where I need an exact size shipping for some new sizes to test is great for me

It's all good i was just giving him a "rough" time,,, still a generous offer if not just for the other one that does indeed look in pretty good shape...

all kinds of things can be done even with beater endmills that you don't have the collet size for, you can even just clamp one in the vise and spin material into a single good remaining flute if positioned correctly...
