  • OT: Portable AM/FM Radio w/ Bluetooth

Can anyone recommend a portable am/fm radio that preferably has a Bluetooth output for a wireless speaker? I'd want to use it with regular plug-in earbuds and one of the wireless speakers when mowing the lawn, out and about, or in my old car that is currently missing a radio. AM band is most important so I can get the ball games that usually aren't accessible on streaming services. I don't play MP3s so that capability is not needed. Lots of AM radios but the Bluetooth option seems to be rare.

Is it that bad to use the radio with corded ear buds? All the little shirt pocket AM/FM radios I've ever seen had a earphone jack.

Is that legal to use in a car?

I bought a set of these headphones for when I mow the lawn. AM, FM, bluetooth. I'm happy with them.

I have an MP3 player with FM radio. I use it when I go to the fitness center to exercise: they have cable TV and broadcast some of the station's audio on a short range FM system. It uses earphones with a cord and I have constant problems with them coming loose in my ears due to the pull of that cord. I would love a better earphone and I don't care what color it is or how cool it looks as long as it stays in my ears. I don't know if Bluetooth would be good there as it may be fighting their system as well as others using similar devices.

            Paul A.

            Make it fit.

Those would be good for mowing the lawn, but I'd look like a dweeb driving my 1973 Plymouth Cuda wearing them.

What I'd like is something like this C Crane radio, but it lacks the Bluetooth.

I wonder if a BT transmitter like this may be the only way to make it happen?

I feel like you're somewhat asking the wrong question:
                - I've yet to find something that you can not find online _somewhere_
                - i can't think of a modern Android phone that can't connect via Bluetooth, and most can act as an FM reciever also (in some case you have to have the earbuds plugged in because they use the earbud wire as an antenna
                - at that point connect it to whatever you want to play it so you can hear it.

Maybe I am. I want a portable AM radio (FM is a bonus) that will work with wired buds and have a Bluetooth output to use with wireless speaker. A decent embedded speaker is a plus, but not a requirement .

Lots of FM versions or MP3 players out there that meet the requirements but I don't think that I've seen one with an AM band. I want the AM band to listen to Bob Ueker call the Brewer's games. They won't stream the games, over the air only. Also I can't always get cell or internet coverage. Sometimes the earbuds will work but if I'm in the garage working on the car or something or out on the deck, I want to use the Bluetooth speaker.

                    Not easy.
If it has bluetooth its mostly "input" to connect your smart phone to play spotify or whatever.
Bluetooth output, AM AND wired headset connector is pretty limiting it seems.

Might be easiest to add separate bluetooth dongle to otherwise suitable radio:
