  • Anyone have specifications for a South Bend 10K?

Looking for specifications on a South Bend 10K.

I am trying to understand the differences and simularities.

I have some parts from a 9" like the collets and the draw bar and would like to know if they will fit a 10K.

Also, want to know some general info on the beast.

    Thanks,

    Mar

There's info on the 10K (and the other SB models) at the UK lathe site. http://www.lathes.co.uk/southbend/page7.html
    The 9 & 10K use different collets. 9 uses 3c - 10K uses 6K
I think the 10K has a sightly larger spindle bore. 3c collet max is 1/2" 6k max is 5/8 (I think).
10k has a pin in the spindle bore - like an R8, - 9" machines don't have this.

You may have already gone this route but if not, South Bend will sell you a parts manual for your lathe.

South Bend has recently been taken over by Lebond Ltd. The new number for South Bend Lathe service and parts is:

      Phone 888-532-5663
      FAX 513-943-0099

Call the above number and select option 1 for the parts department.
