  • Panted grinding wheels

I just purchased tool grinder and both the white silicon carbide wheels are covered with paint. Would it be worth the effort to clean them up and if so what would be the best way to clean the wheels?

    Just one question......

is the work of removing the paint, AND the risk that the wheels may have a defect in them as a result, worth it?

A wheel that comes apart is a dangerous item. Very much so.

I'd toss them, and get new.

I am curious.....are you sure they have paint? Must be a lot or you wouldn't be asking.

How did it get tehre? Did someone do a "rustoleum rebuild" and not mask off the wheels?
