small boring bar? HSS??

    I'll have to take a picture this evening of the special trick boring bar that I got with my unimat. It will fit in a 1/4" or possibly smaller hole. I also have made special purpose boring tools using standard 1/4" square HSS tool stock and a whole bunch of grinding.

      Here's a 1/4" boring bar made by Kennametal
      with indexable carbide inserts. It has come in handy many times for me,I dont know if they still make it tho.

          I meant to photo this the other day. Here is the trick little boring bar that came with the Unimat when I bought it. It uses a special cross section HSS bit that clamps in a split collet which screws into the end of the bar to hold it. The other end of the bar holds at 45 degrees. The tap beside is 5/16". I have about 8" of the special section HSS tool steel left.
