  • RL Morris 45 rifle

I have posted about this set before, the metalwork is amazing, the flintlock (for those that remember) is intlet into steel. Mr. Morris was a craftsman and I am lucky to own such a beautiful set.
this is a 3 barrel, 2 action set
    Underhammer:
    45 RB(pictured)
    62 RB
    .485 slug gun
    Flintlock:
    52 RB

figured I would at least post some pics of the gun and loading etc

this is an underhammer, sealed ignition 45lb or so rifle. Not my heaviest, (that would be an 80lb monster.)

I hadn’t tried FFG as of yet so I experimented today w 90, 95 g. next up 100. Didn’t do great, groups were about 1.25” at 100.(5 shot, iron sights)

Anyway, the 45 at the home range:

You are right. That is a beautiful piece of work.
At the end of the project, there is a profound difference between spare parts and extra parts.

              Location: SF East Bay.

I have several muzzle loaders, I grew up with them as a kid.
I fondly remember watching the slug guns shooting at Friendship.
Is that barrel a damascas steel?
                Very nice work.

I want to see a pic of you shooting it offhand....

Beautiful piece. What level of accuracy is the best setup capable of?
