Just weld a spanner to the bed. Drop the collet into it and tighten with another spanner (assuming the nuts are A).Why bother with a vise?

It would probably be stronger if you had bored a hole in the hex head, trimmed the socket head to fit, then silver soldered them.

How many here could single point the matching internal thread for this?...

What are your tolerances? Attempting to mill a slot with the same size cutter will usually fail to cut a straight path. I would try with a 2.5mm end...

How accurate do the slots need to be? Cutting helixes by hand is quite easy to do.

The link I posted has boring bars down to 1.1mm. Shouldn't be too hard to do 1/8" (3.175mm) holes. Reaming shouldn't be necessary after boring...

Boring would be the most reliable, but it will actually depend on how accurately you can do it, not the theoretically best. Why don't you do 10 each...
