You are 100% correct. Sorry about that. I took that MT3 right out of the spec sheet, and it is actually an MT5 with the 'reduction' sleeve....

No, it is a D1-5 chuck mount, while the spindle taper is MT3. I already have the 5C adapter pictured in the right hand photo submitted by the OP.
