I have cast items in RTV moulds using cooking spray as a release agent with no trouble. Bite the bullet and use RTV, it will be simpler in the end.Last edited by loose nut; 01-15-2021, 07:10 PM.

Weird drilling conundrum
I needed to drill or preferably ream a hole of.210" down the centre of a part on the lathe. I don't have a .210 reamer but I did have a number drill...

Those plastic Starrett cases don't last long and leather may promote rust. Might be OK if it is well oiled but then it is messy.

Get some fibreglass fabric, auto body stuff thicker if possible. Maybe from a fibreglass boat builder. We used that to control sparks and for heat insulation...
