Might be a set for recutting valve seats and valve guides in older engines.

That set was probably used by a pattern maker for making mold box and core for castings. You have to make the mold cavity bigger by the amount of shrinkage...Last edited by Toolguy; 01-13-2021, 10:26 AM.

I have a 6" and 8" 6 jaw Bison adjust tru chuck. They are just about the only chucks I use anymore for the last 15 years. I also use collets...

Ingersoll is good quality, but in the past they have often had oddball size and shapes of inserts that can be hard to find.

Get a Phase II Spindex with a matching tailstock. Index every 30 degrees. Need 5C collets or 5c lathe chuck.

Might think about reed valves on the engine side of the carb, a lot of motorcycles had that. It's simple and automatic.

The easy way to do that would be to bore the ends for about 1/2" to 1" deep in the ends, on size or a bit under, then use a 5/8" parabolic...
