I would think that the metal got heat treated after the flats and bend were done. Might be some kind of chrome-moly. Maybe a scrap merchant or metal dealer...

Constant use would be the best solution, I have always wondered if running the tank nearly empty before filling right up, or keeping the tank topped up...Last edited by old mart; 01-22-2023, 04:48 PM.
