I will have to play around with that. The existing gear train gives an input of 1 to .375 of spindle to screw gear so if I add a combo gear in that ratio...Last edited by GordonL; 03-18-2023, 09:39 AM.

The problem is that it must match the 127/120 ratio not the 127/100 ratio. The 13" SB has a 6TPI leadscrew and the others have a 8TPI leadscrew so...

The carriage is going to move 1/TPI no matter what the TPI in the lead screw may be. That is all determined by the gearing prior to the gear box....

After thinking about it I do not think that the TPI in the lead screw make any difference. If the gearbox is set for 10 TPI it is going to move 1/10"...

Metric threads on South Bend
I had occasion where I needed a metric thread of 2mm pitch. I got by using 13TPI which worked for this application. Metric equivalent would be 12.7 TPI....
